European standards are developed by the European Committee for Standardization No. 120 (non-woven bags) Technical Committee (CEN∕TC120), whose secretariat is the Netherlands Standardization Association (NNI).
This standard is one of a series of standards for bags for the transportation of rescue foods formulated in accordance with the requirements of the European Community Council (CEC).
This standard replaces EN277:1989.
This European Standard shall become a national standard by publishing the same documents or endorsed by October 1995 at the latest, and national standards that are inconsistent with this Standard shall also be repealed by October 1995 at the latest.
In accordance with the internal regulations of the European Committee for Standardization and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CEN), the following countries are obliged to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
